SHADOWS FROM PRAGUE: THE FRANZ KAFKA PROJECT | Powerscourt Theatre, South William Street, Dublin 2
A major force in world literature, Franz Kafka's disturbing work fused elements of realism and the fantastic - often featuring lone individuals crushed by incomprehensible bureaucratic powers. Short story writer Daithí Ó Muirí has translated Kafka into Irish. Shadows from Prague will feature Daithí reading to musical accompaniment from Seán Mac Erlaine, and on-screen imagery and shadow puppets created by Niamh Lawlor of Púca Puppets

Sounds of Silents is a silent film programme drawn from collections at the IFI Irish Film Archive. The programme will be accompanied by a series of improvised scores performed by six leading musicians working between the fields of Irish traditional, improvised and electronic musics. Shane Latimer, Seán MacErlaine and Ailbhe NicOireachtaigh will be joined by three musicians from the Ruhr area of Germany: Saxophonists Julius Gabriel and Florian Walter and electronic artist Achim Zepezauer.
